Alcohol & Green Tea

Katie and I have had an extremely productive week studying for boards and working out to keep our minds and bodies fit and stress-free. It's AMAZING what a difference a 3-day weekend has made on my attitude, energy, and motivation. It's also amazing how quickly 21 consecutive days of school can sap the very life out of you. I am a whole-hearted believer in taking a day of rest, a Shabat, each and every week. It's necessary for physiological health as well as spiritual health.

Yesterday in nutrition class, we saw the research and studies that advocate how 1 alcoholic beverage a day can improve health by reducing C-reactive protein. OK, a gallon of wine does not equal 1 alcoholic beverage. But, the additional info is for those who don't indulge in adult drinks on a regular basis, a fine alternative is green tea and dark chocolate. Katie & I *high-fived* each other on that one since it's a study time STAPLE. It gets us through, and we love our flavored green tea. We are definitely on the right track and it's gonna pay off on boards, and 50 years down the road.

The home stretch is here, for the massive national boards, and the last exams I will have to take at this school . . . EVER! I can't wait to be done and to maximize beach time!
