Prayer and Perserverance
Today, Dr. Sproul began teaching on St. Paul's epistle to the Philippians. His focus was on the perserverance of the saints. These are the main points that I took to heart from today:
"We look at the outside; it is God who looks at the soul." -- Dr. R.C. Sproul
"Not all who profess faith possess faith." --Dr. R.C. Sproul
"For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus." --Philippians 1:6
For the past couple of months, the St. Andrew's chapel congregational prayer time has been focused on the psalms as the framework for the prayer. Dr. Sproul emphasized that the psalms should be the core for one's prayer life. I've recently been reading 1-2 psalms as my mornings prayers, which has refreshed my plateau of a prayer life into one that sees God as the psalmists saw God and worshipped and communed with Him.
