Discovery Shuttle Launch

Thank goodness the launch proceeded well without any crisis. The entire campus skipped class from 1030 - 1040 to view the launch from the school parking lot (even faculty and staff were out there). I wish we had a good photo of the initial orange plume from the rockets, it was brilliant and huge. You could even hear the initial blast from Port Orange (we're only about 45 miles from Cape Canaveral). Steve actually got to venture out to Daytona Beach for the view - and he didn't have any clouds in the way to obstruct his view. He got a pretty sweet little video of the launch on his digital cam.
