What defines your life?

Is it chiropractic? Your family? . . . Surfing? Golf? Work?

Your actions?

Or is it your very love for Christ?

Rev. Burk Parsons taught in Sunday school on 1 Corinthians 1:26-31 about considering your calling.(v 26) God called "not many wise, mighty, nor noble . . .according to the flesh", but those that are called are "the foolish things of the world." God picked fools to shame the wise of the world, peasants to shame the nobles of this earth, and the weak to shame the mighty according to men.

This was a very powerful and convicting lesson in scripture. As a student, and a very driven person, I like to seek wisdom . . . and be RIGHT and correct. Sometimes, I can easily take pride in wisdom. But, my wisdom in anything (making good choices, doing well in school, etc.) is all because my wisdom is Christ, and it comes from Him.

"Could it be our very love for Christ consumes us, drives us, keeps us going? A desire to be assembled with people of God and sharing with them in this great devotion be what defines us?" --Burk Parsons

"Let man glory in the fact that he understands and knows God." --Burk Parsons

"To live is Christ, to die is gain." -- Philippians 1:21

So, God didn't call the wise, the noble, the strong, nor the mighty . . . but he called ME.
